Tango and La Boca

La Boca is a colourful suburb of Buenos Aires. It has a multitude of restaurants, shops and colourful buildings highlighted by the statues of famous Argentinian personalities. The buildings are painted yellows, greens, reds, blues and art is everywhere. Statues, paintings, tango dancers abound. This area has a vibrant history of the days when as a port it had prostitute and sailors and when colourful had a whole different meaning. It is cited as the place where tango started as the sailors would come to town looking for a beautiful woman and having to fight among each other for the attention of the prostitute . The men would dance with each other vying for the most flamboyant moves to attract the ladies.
the tango photos are of friends dancing in Plaza Dorrego in San telmo another interesting suburb of Buenos Aires.
