Cenit and the day of the family

Ecuador still has a large amount of indigenous people who live very simply amidst much poverty. 30% of the people that CENIT works with have no running water, sanitation or transport services. Cenit is a school for poor and indigenous people in the South of Quito, Ecuador. It is run by nuns who initially helped only the girls. They then incorporated the brothers and eventually they started to work with the whole family. It is a marvellous organisation run by deeply caring people.
Kate Liggett and I have been able to raise funds for CENIT through a pub quiz every Tuesday which gains CENIT almost $4000 per year and pays for Rescate where the under school age market children learn to wash their hands and brush their teeth. The money buys, games, toothbrushes/paste and soap and also pays for the school summer camp which, for many of CENIT’s children, did not happen last year due to lack of funds.
