Wales

Vanessa and I first met in Ecuador and have since met up again in Thailand and London. I jumped at the chance to come to Wales especially as she lived in the wonderful village of Caernarfon next to the Menai Straits. It was great to meet up with her friend Barbara again too. John the DJ and the whole salsa crew thanks to the efforts of Vanessa and Barbara held a fantastic party in aid of CENIT Ecuador and obtained funds for our project of empowering women in Ecuador.
Caernarfon Castle is regarded as the most impressive of the castles built by Edward 1. Commanding the mouth of the River Seiont, it dominates the small town of Caernarfon, a beautiful village of 17th and 18th century streets enclosed by medieval stone walls.
Caernarfon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Caernarfon Castle is stunning but the town’s narrow streets and stylishly redeveloped waterfront are also charming. The castle, built in the 13th century by Edward I as a royal palace and military fortress, was at the core of a medieval walled town.
