Toledo, Spain

You need to be fit to visit Toledo. Sitting on a mountain top this is a medieval city with historic houses narrow streets and just enough space for a small car to climb the hills. The city is stunning with wonderful views and is surrounded by the river Tagus. It is know as the Imperial city because Charles 1st had his main court there. It has history dating back to the year 400 and is mention as a Roman city. It is also well known for making swords knives and everywhere there are metal work shops selling every variety of knife that you can imagine including historical swords and many a metal Don Quixote is on display.
Entering this fortified city through one of it’s gates and walking, or rather hiking, round this lovely city surrounded by mosques, synagogues and churches you are spellbound by the many historic and beautiful buildings that date back to Roman times.
I am so lucky to have met Pura my wonderful friend who invited me to her lovely home in this fabulous city. This is city is a Unesco World Heritage site.
