Morro De São Paulo- Tinhare Bahia and Guerreiros Da Luz

Morro Sao Paolo is a village on the island of Tinhare which has recently been discovered by tourists. To date there are only small petty thefts but very soon it will become like the mainland and the sex trade, drugs and theft issues will occur. We are trying to pre-empt the problem by building a cultural centre where education, arts, crafts music and capoeira will capture the interest of the youth. We have the backing of the local community and the guy running it is fully committed to remaining in Brazil. Ahmad Mansoor Simmons is half American and Half Ethiopian and totally committed to living in Brazil to see his project to fruition. My first job was to take photos ,which to me is the best, as I am using my photography skills to help the charity. We are affiliated with an American charity which is good news for donations. At the moment we need volunteers and money to grow the charity. https://www.gofundme.com/morrodesaopaulo
Morro is a pretty village and the locals earn their money by fishing, carrying wheelbarrows filled with tourist luggage or working in the foreign owned pousadas and hotels. It has four stunning beaches and clear clean water. The village is in two parts. Part one is almost a shopping centre with a multitude of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels and further away is where the locals live, a much poorer area.
