Quito & Bogota
I landed in Bogota and spent time with my friend Jeannie who retired to Bogota. She is building a house /mini hotel in a beautiful place called Villa de Leyva. It is a colonial town surrounded by mountains and very pretty.
I also returned to Quito to a great welcome. I had a fabulous time wining and dining and catching up though inevitably I missed seeing some good friends as I was only there for a week. My friend Kate carries on running the pub quiz for me (and Cenit) and in August and September when there are no volunteers friends Jon and Merika step in so that we don’t lose our spot. These are true friends. The good news is that CENIT is still running our project though it has changed a bit as the bags and jewellery are more popular than the cards. We are even exporting to Japan and and the US.
