Patagonia

It was autumn so the time of year made for fabulous photos of colourful leaves. I also travelled through some of the smaller villages in the Argentinian Lake District which is just like a mini Switzerland with lakes and mountains, wooden chalets and lots of chocolate!
Puerto Madryn is famous for its penguins and sea lions, walruses and fur seals and at certain times of the year you can see the Southern Right Whales around Puerto Madryn performing their mating dance. The penguins are protected and you cannot get too close to them but their little antics are fun to watch. The smell as you arrive is not quite so much fun. The first time I came to Patagonia was with my friend Joanna and we had a great time at Erratic Rock, a Chilean hostel. Another time I travelled down with my friend Olivier staying at the same hostel to do the “W” circuit of Torres del Paine, Chile.
