Pisac

Pisac has a great Sunday market when villagers come down from the Andes to  barter and sell their wares and to catch up with the gossip. Despite the many tourists this market has its own charm as it is a traditional market. It is very colourful with the traditional Peruvian weaving and handicrafts on display and for sale plus fruit and vegetables. Colourful traditional costumes abound as the villagers wear their Sunday best with the floppy hats indicating which village they are from. Hiking up to Pisac’s ruins you are reminded of the skill of the Incas  as you pass patterned fields and terraces, water ducts and steps cut out of solid rock on your way to the Sun temple.
