Levanto and Cinque Terre

strolling through five beautiful Italian coastal villages is not as easy as you think. Basing ourselves at Levanto we hiked along clifftops to visit a village a day. Vernazza has a gorgeous Piazza to watch the sun set overlooked by a church on one side and a ruined castle on the other. The lowering sun shines a yellow light on the beach and the many coloured houses of this small town. Corniglia is on a mountain top and is quite a climb in the hot Italian sun. Manarola was a welcome relief as it is an easy walk along the Via dell’Amore the road of love.  This area is a Unesco World heritage site.
