China: Summer Palace and Hutongs
The Summer Palace is even more beautiful in winter as the lake is iced over and the sky is clearer than normal and the winter sunshine is lovely. Tiananmen Square has Mao looking over his people and you have to go underneath him to visit the Forbidden City. Beijing is impressive in its largeness everything is so big. I exhausted myself for two days in a row visiting these famous places.The hutongs are so much more real China to me.
